About the event

Tots to Teens Music Night | TSB Festival of Lights | Festival Kids
Kids need their own gigs too, and this four-hour music extravaganza is just for the younger generation! The stage will come alive with short performances from highly rated children’s music performers through to rising stars who are ones to watch! Hosted by Claudia Robin Gunn.

Claudia Robin Gunn
5.30pm – 6pm
APRA and Aotearoa Music Award winning songwriter for kids Claudia Robin Gunn brings the sparkle to kids bops, with a vast original catalogue that has been winning hearts and bringing smiles all around the world. Building on her past 7 albums of critically acclaimed tunes, 2025 saw the release of 6 new EP’s ~ Playful, Helpful, Wonderful, Magical, Mindful and Joyful. Claudia’s Little Wild Music project is blooming, winning over kiwi kids and their parents, one cute and quirky ditty at a time.

Jeff Parsnips
6.10pm – 6.40pm
With two acclaimed albums, major tours, and high-profile collaborations under his belt, singer/songwriter Jed Parsons has embraced a new alter ego, Jeff Parsnips - Aotearoa’s answer to The Wiggles. Inspired by artists like Spike Milligan, Anika Moa, and Don McGlashan, Parsnips debuted with Tomato Tamati, an ode to a boy who puts tomato sauce on everything. His debut kids’ album, Silly Songs for Silly Sausages, was released in June, offering a joyful slice of kiwiana for children and adults alike. Parsons’ indie success adds depth to Parsnips’ silliness, delighting longtime fans and winning new ones.

Spellodies
6.50pm – 7.20pm
Spellodies is a family band (from the Silver Scroll winning band Lips), consisting of Fen, Steph and their 8-year-old son Freddy. They are winners of the 2024 APRA Best song for Primary Age kids. They regularly perform their high energy set packed with catchy songs and comedy sketches in a variety of genres including rock, folk, country, pop, funk and more. Their show is aimed at kids age 4-9 years but suitable for younger kids, with laughs and audience participation for the whole family.

Star Nova
7.25pm – 7.45pm
Vibrant and surreal, upcoming artist Star Nova evokes magic and emotion through her acoustic, alternative sound. Star Nova weaves inspiration from Radiohead and Big Thief to create bold, dark, and whimsical imagery. A captivating and new blend of beauty and discordance, prepare to be entranced by Star Nova’s alluring and melodic ambiance.

Who’s Johnson?
7.55pm – 8.25pm
From the coastal town of Taranaki, Who’s Johnson is a teenage indie rock band carving out a sound that’s equal parts nostalgic and fresh. Their music nods to the melodic melancholy of The Smiths, but with a sharper, more modern edge that feels unmistakably their own. Whether it’s dreamy guitar lines, energetic hooks, or emotionally sharp lyrics, Who’s Johnson brings an honesty to the stage that cuts through the noise.

TomTom and the Groove-Daddies
8.40pm – 9.25pm
Wellington’s own 8-year-old drumming phenom TomTom Woodson is lighting up the local music world! At just 10 months old, TomTom was already tapping in perfect time to his dad’s guitar. So, what would any proud-as-punch dad do? Build his son a mini drum kit and hand him some sticks to see where it took him. The rest? Hopefully history in the making. Before he was 2 years old, while most toddlers are playing with Playdough, TomTom was playing the Beatles at his first public gig. So, in 2022, his dad rallied some muso mates to give TomTom a performing outlet: TomTom and the Groove-Daddies! Expect tunes from The Beatles, Oasis, Nirvana, The Killers, David Bowie, The Rolling Stones and more.
